Meet Carole and Clive

All training sessions are taken by husband and wife team Carole and Clive. Dog owners all of their lives and with over 25 years of dog handling experience between them, they have a true understanding of what’s required to help your four legged friend fit comfortably into your life & your home.

Carole has owned and trained many different breeds of dog including the Doberman, Yorkshire Terrier, Lhasa Apso and Tibetan Spaniel. She is strongly convinced that most problems encountered with dogs is due to a lack of socialisation. Carole’s puppy classes are designed to be informative, progressing and fun for both dog and handler.

Wags & Woofs Puppy Class

Clive’s interest in dog training began 25 years ago with the family’s pet Labrador. Not wanting to have an obedience champion but a pet member of his family, he felt that the harsh regimented methods used were not the best way for his dogs. On leaving Bishop Burton College in 1992 after qualifying as a pet dog instructor and following extensive training courses with some of the world’s most well known and respected dog trainers and behaviourists, Clive started to promote Positive Enforcement Training, which is what Wags & Woofs continue to promote today. Motivating and encouraging the dog with praise or treat rewards has been proven to be a most successful and beneficial form of dog training.

A few of our Advanced Class four-legged students have been attending Wags & Woofs for a long time now. They have all progressed from general obedience to excelling in more challenging exercises. The Advanced Class dogs and handlers are still having fun in training and consider their Tuesday evenings the highlight of their week.
